Hello Friends, Welcome to my channel Real Quick Info.
- We all know Nawaz Sharif has resigned from Pakistan's Prime Minister Post.
- As per Pakistan's Constitution, Being Honest is a prerequisite for being in the Prime Minister's office.
- In this video, we will discuss how Pakistan's supreme court concluded that he is dishonest.
- Nawaz Sharif used to be the chairman of a UAE based company, which was owned by his younger son.
- Joint Investigation team claimed that While serving as a chairman, Nawaz Sharif drew salary in between Aug 7, 2006 and April 20, 2014.
-Therefore For one year, while being the prime minister, he continued to get salary. But Sharif did not declare this income in his election nomination papers.
- Sharif's advocate told the supreme court, Sharif was only designated chairman but he did not get any salary from the company.
-Basically He was made chairman of the company, because as an employee Nawaz Sharif wanted to get UAE work visa. This visa might have allowed him to stay in UAE while being in exile, from which he returned to Pakistan in November 2007.
As per UAE labor laws, its required that all employees must receive a salary otherwise the company can be blacklisted and shut down. Hence its proved that Sharif was entitled to get salary. Its different matter whether he got it or not.
- Now lets ask few questions.
Number 1, As chairman of the company, was Nawaz sharief entitled to salary.
- The answer is, Yes.
Number 2, As a chairman of the company, has he withdrawn any salary.
- The answer is, he might not have withdrawn salary.
Number 3, As per Pakistan's representation of the people act, if all assets are not disclosed, will it result in disqualification.
- The answer is Yes.
Number 4, If a person is entitled to salary but he doesn't withdraw it. can Such salary for being receivable be called asset
- The answer is, Yes.
As you understand now, the salary was due on Nawaz Sharif but he didn't withdraw it. Hence such salary even without receiving can be categorized as Asset.
Since, Nawaz Sharif failed to disclose such asset in his nomination papers, It would amount to providing false declaration. Hence He was proved dishonest.
All five judges of supreme courts agreed on this conclusion.
Having been proved dishonest, he lost his eligibility to remain honest member of the parliament and he was to leave the prime minister's office.
As an obvious outcome, Nawaz Sharief resigned.
