Hello Friends, Welcome to my channel Real Quick Info.
- Friends in the beginning let’s talk about Strait of Malacca, which connects the Pacific Ocean to the east with the Indian Ocean to the west.
- This is a very narrow stretch of water in between Malaysia and Sumatra islands of Indonesia.
- From economic and strategic perspective, Strait of Malacca is one of the most important shipping lane in the world.
- Oil from middle east and raw material from Asia and Africa pass through this and reach China.
- Chinese cheap goods are also transported through this.
- China understands, In order to get complete domination on South China Sea, it has to get presence in Indian ocean as well.
- Given China is trying to be world's number one power, it anticipates the threatening scenarios and prepares to deal with them in advance.
- China is always scared of a war scenario when US and its allies block the Strait of Malacca for Chinese ships, effectively stopping the oil supply to china and shipments of goods from China.
- This is the very reason why China is working feverishly with Pakistan to build an alternative China-Pakistan Economic Corridor to wards Middle East and Africa. and that’s why China worked over time to get the Hambantota Port 99 year lease deal closed with Sri Lanka.
- Amid Doklam standoff, China has unleashed its psychological warfare against India. As per one Chinese expert, even if China somehow manage to defeat India in a war on land, it would be impossible for Chinese navy to beat India Navy in Indian ocean.
- Given that 80% of middle east Chinese import sails through strait of Malacca, its truly Chinese energy life line.
- India has never succumbed to Chinese psychological pressure.
- The way China is treating India this time, its effectively pushing India more towards America and its allies
- In the possible conflict scenario, India may end up explicitly or implicitly supporting American plan to contain China by blocking the Malacca strait and the Indian ocean. Wise China would certainly not want to empower its opponents in the region.
- Even for The success of Chinese Belt and Road Initiative, due to geographic location India is one of the most important partner.
- China must realize that it’s better having friendship with India. Even now, when India has not joined Belt and Road initiative. if China address Indian concerns, India may take positive and supportive views towards this Chinese project.
- But this recent Chinese action and threats have fueled anti-Chinese sentiments in India. Historically mistrust and hostility between the two countries run deep as well.
- No Indian government can establish friendly relationship with China as long as Indian public doesn’t consider China as friend.
- This perception on Indian public is basically based on the huge difference in between what China says and what it does.
- While daily issuing new war threats to India, China must consider all factors in wholesome manner and decide, is it really worth it to have completely spoiled relationship with India for building a small road in an area, which is frozen for up to eight months of the year.
