Hello Friends, Welcome to my channel Real Quick Info.
Today, we will talk about key step taken by Modi government. For some reason, Indian traditional Media chose to ignore this.

You know, Behind the China Pakistan Economic corridor, one of the major motivations, is to gain access to vast growing African market.

As part of its massive Belt and Road Initiative, China is estimated to invest close to one trillion US Dollars on building key infrastructure facilities in African countries.

Over last many years, China has been able to grow rapidly by harnessing the existing markets. Going forward, Belt and Road initiative let china develop the market for itself.

In order to protect its economic interests and increase its capabilities in  Indian Ocean region, China  is now operating its first ever overseas Naval base in Djibouti Horn of Africa.
In this background, lets talk about India.
Historically, India has always had friendly relationships with African countries. However, India did not proactively work on deepening the relationship further.

The result is India has lagged behind China in Africa as well.

Thankfully, During UPA II, Indian government started giving aid to big infrastructure projects in Africa.
Initially, Modi  government has also carried forward the same policy.

Just like India, Japan is also concerned about China's rapidly expanding economic and strategic influence in the resource rich continent.

African countries are also looking for way to counter balance the Chinese influence and prevent getting overdependent on only one country.

Realizing this need, Japan is working to build quality infrastructure in Africa.

As per to this strategy, Japan is providing assistance for Special Economic zone  around Mombasa port in Kenya.

Since India and Japan share same concern and have been good friends, there is possibility to collaborate in African development.

Sharing the common objectives, before the visit of Japanese PM in next month, Under the leadership of Modi, both governments have finalized a blueprint to collaborate on developing Special Economic Zones in African countries.
To begin with, Indian companies will take part in the Mombasa Special Economic zone, which will focus on infrastructure, pharmaceutical, fertilizers and manufacturing.

Please keep in mind, this port is gateway for east African market, where Indian firms already have significant stakes there.
Having presence in Mombasa Special Economic zone, will be force multiplier for Indian companies.

This can be seen as countering the expansion of Chinese foot prints in Africa.

However, For Indian and Japanese side, this is not just a reactive step.
As part of decades old friendship with African countries, these two countries are getting involved to ensure the economic prosperity, capacity building and development of African countries.

Needless to say, The benefits of such collaboration will be shared by the people of India and Japan as well.
Main difference to point out, naturally India and China will not exploit African countries. Moreover they will not let China to exploit  African countries any more.

Besides, Economic benefits, You Know, both India and Japan aspire  to become permanent members of United Nations Security council.

The active support of 54 members of African unions will certainly help in realizing this dream of India and Japan.  Hence, Making friendship bond stronger is obviously worth while.
