Friends, do you know? just when China and India agreed on resolution of Doklam standoff, Chinese president had to replace General Fenghui, who was the first ever General, to hold this top most position in Peoples liberation Army.


When we read this news, we suspect a connection in between Doklam dispute resolution and This replacement.

As per deep analysis done by Brahma Chellaney , who is one of the Chinese affairs experts, General Fenghui was perhaps an obstacle in finding the Doklam resolution.
Without considering all factors holistically, He might have taken a hard line that China would not stop road construction in Doklam Plateau.

At the same time, there could be possibility  that He was probably responsible for causing the whole stand off.
Under his leadership, it might have been decided to start construction of road in disputed area without taking political leadership in full confidence.
only to create difficulties for Chinese president in getting second term in November this year.

Last year also, when Chinese president was on Indian Visit, Chinese troop tried to enter in Indian border in Ladakh region.

This act of aggression has  vitiated whole atmosphere, and embarrassed Chinese president.


If an officer first creates a problem and then also become obstacle in  finding the solution of the problem, you can easily arrive at conclusion what end he will meet.

Anyways, lets keep this conspiracy theory aside, it has been reported, General Fenghui is now being questioned and detained on the suspicion of corruption.

No doubt, Indulging in corrupt practices is more serious act than conspiring against the political leadership.

Anyways, Chinese army has been suffering from rampant corruption at higher levels for quite some time.
Dozens of Army officers have been investigated and jailed.


You know, Corruption among the army officers is a serious problem both for civilian control of the military, and for military effectiveness.

Though P L A looks united singular force from out side view, yet it is internally divided into multiple factions.

Leaders of Communist Party of China depend on the loyalty of few of these factions to survive and grow their clout.

You know, an army should be apolitical institute, Unfortunately that is not the case in China.

Needless to say, Chinese army officers are corrupt and they also take advantage of their political connections.

Returning to Doklam standoff, the resolution has highlighted the problems of Chinese army and political control over this important institution.

When you get defeated, you get exposed and people ask questions, Chinese civilian and military leadership are going through this difficult phase after testing defeat in Doklam.

In the end, Great deal of credit must go to Indian army,  it showed remarkable professional and apolitical behavior under the civilian leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
