Hello Friends, I welcome you with a new video on my channel Real Quick Info.
Today, we will talk about how  Nirmala Sitharaman became first full time woman defense minister of India.

You know, 58 Year old Nirmala Sitharaman was born in Madurai Tamil Nadu.
After completing her bachelor education in  Tiruchirappalli, She got admission in Master of Arts course in  Jawaharlal Nehru University.

In JNU She completed her PhD and M Phil.

While studying in JNU, she met her husband Parakala Prabhakar, who interestingly come from a pro-congress family.
She has  served at Pricewaterhouse Coopers as a Senior Manager and later for the BBC World Service.

In 1991, Nirmala and her husband returned to India from UK and made Hydrabad their home.
In the same year, the couple was blessed with a daughter.

While working as member of  National Commission for Women from 2003 to 2005, she came in contact with Sushma Swaraj, who sounded out Nirmala  for a role in BJP.

In between 2006 to 2010, she worked hard as ordinary worker and started gaining popularity in BJP.

due to her, efficiency in articulating BJP viewpoints in English, she was enlisted as one of the  six party spokespersons in March 2010.

Since then, we all have seen her, in prime time debates on the news TV channels.

Interestingly, as party spokesperson, she became quite popular in the Modi-ruled Gujarat.

As a visible spokesperson of the BJP, Nirmala played an important role in the run up to the 2014 elections by effectively projecting the Modi-for-PM message.

2016, She got chance to show her administrative skills as  Minister of state with Independent charge in Ministry of Commerce and Ministry of Finance.

She has never contested any public election. Currently she is Rajya Sabha MP representing state of Karnataka.

Her remarkable administrative capability has been once again rewarded by Prime Minister Modi and she has been promoted to become first ever full time Defense Minister of India. Hence sending out the message of women empowerment, she is now member of super powerful Cabinet Committee on Security.

With this promotion, her stature as leader representing south Indian states has grown immensely.
She has certainly promising career ahead of her.
If she continues to deliver in her new role, she may end up becoming First BJP Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu one day.
Regardless, she is politician worth following.
