Hello Friends, I welcome you with a new video on my channel Real Quick Info.
We all know, that Russia is largest, oldest and most trusted Indian Partner in Defense hardware and equipment.

You might have noticed, India-Russia defense relations have somewhat cooled over the last months with the cancellation of an aircraft deal, and continuing disagreements over one of their most prestigious defense projects — the co-development and production of the  Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft.

To make matter worse, Last year in September when Uri attack happened,  Russia was conducting first ever Anti Terror joint military exercise with Pakistan, which sponsors and practices terrorism as matter of state policy against India.

Through diplomatic channels, Under the leadership of Modi, India communicated strong reaction to Russia.

In order to ensure better trust and understanding in between Russia and India, Russian government decided in February this year, that  Russia will not conduct such war games with Pakistan.

This is an ideal decision that India can expect from responsive friendly country.

you know, started in 2003, Indra is a joint bi-annual military exercise in between India and Russia .

But in October this year, India and Russia will conduct Indra, as first ever bilateral tri services exercise in Russia.

For the first time, All three wings of Indian armed forces (Military, Navy and Air force) will take part in this war game.

You know, Russia and China have good relationship, conducting such exercise with Russia, no doubt sends a signal to China about the maturity of Strategic partnership in between  India and Russia.

Meanwhile, India has announced taking up 116 high impact community development projects in Afghanistan.

Since, India has limited economic power, it makes sense to focus on those areas where small Indian investment can bring about big change.

Given that, even America wants India to play bigger role in the development of Afghanistan.

With the possibility of increasing Indian influence in Afghanistan, Russia is keen to talk to and work with India.

Russia has proposed Indian visit of Russian President Putin's special envoy for Afghanistan to discuss with India the security situation of Afghanistan.

Fact remains, as far as Afghanistan is concerned,  Indian and American interests converge but Indian and Russian interest diverge.

The least america would want, the involvement of Russia in already troubled  Afghan region.

Hence, India has got to play a balancing role there.

Moreover, Russia need to determine what end state it wants in Afghanistan and communicate the same effectively to the world.

If India and Russia can work in the positive direction and if this cooperation is acceptable to America, India should engage with Russia.

Assuming larger diplomatic role, India may become a kind of bridge in between Russia and America.

But given the deep mistrust in between these two powers, it would be interesting to see how India manages this difficult situation.
