Now Lets discuss about today's topic.

After change in America's South Asia Strategy,  the rift in America and Pakistan friendship is wide open for every one to see.

While We Indians tend to believe that Pakistan is getting increasingly globally isolated. But things are not as good as it looks from surface.

While its True. Distance in between America and Pakistan is growing. Another alarming truth is distance in between Russia and Pakistan is reducing fast.

What went totally unreported in Indian media is, Just like last year joint drills hosted by Pakistan, this year the Two week long counter terrorism drills are being carried out in between Russian and Pakistan's special forces in Russia.

Interestingly, this exercise is being named "Friendship 2017". It is surprising, that Russia wants to learn anti terrorism strategies from Pakistan.

The Friendship 2017 war games will conclude with the visit of Pakistan's Army Chief's Russian visit.

you can recall, Russia and Pakistan have already entered in to defense cooperation agreement and Russia is selling M I  35 helicopters to Pakistan despite Indian objections.

We Indians consider Russia as our all time friend, its time for Indians to open eyes to see the hard reality that there is no permanent friend in this world.

its evident, Now Russia and China are trying to occupy the vacuum left by American change in strategy.

Unfortunately, Russia seems to commit the same american mistake to take Pakistan's help in establishing peace in Afghanistan.

We all have seen, America tried hard to talk to Taliban and Haqqani Network but failed miserably.

After the visit of US defense Secretary, Special Envoy of President Putin visited India. Its being again suggested that India should join efforts to start Talk to those in the Taliban willing to give up violence.

But Russia fails to realize, as long as Pakistan is supporting the Taliban, it would be foolish to believe that Talk will reach any peaceful conclusion.


America took 17 years to learn this, Russia is eager to repeat the same mistake in different manner.

The deep issue is, America Russia Pakistan and China are just pushing their self interests in troubled Afghan region. While the need is to streamline individual self interests with the interests of people of Afghanistan.
Hence the Afghan problem is not going to solve at all.

Moreover, supporting Pakistan on one hand and expecting on the other hand that Talk with Taliban groups will succeed in bringing peace in Afghanistan.  its again recipe for grand Russian failure.

Anyways, for now India must appreciate the hard reality, that Pakistan is not getting anymore isolated, only its friends are changing. So effectively, for India the total remains big zero.
