You know friends, During last years BRICKS Summit in India, China was able protect its dear friend Pakistan by blocking the inclusion of Pakistan based terrorist groups in the summit declaration.

Hence, India failed to get its core concern related to Pakistan sponsored terrorism addressed in last year's BRICKS summit.

While its understandable, why China tries to shield Pakistan in United Nations Security council  and in BRICKS summit.

What clearly surprised India was that Russia didn't support Indian Demand to include Pakistan based terrorist groups in the summit declaration.

However, Russia was successful in getting Syria based terrorist organization along with ISIS included in the BRICKS summit declaration.

Hence, It appears For China and Russia Terrorists of Syria were bad but Terrorists against India were good enough to ignore.

Thus China had its way, resulting India becoming the clear loser in the summit organized on its own soil.

You know, BRICKS summit is being hosted in China This year.
Being well aware of Indian concerns about Pakistan sponsored terrorism, China tried to convey to India that BRICKS summit is not appropriate platform to discuss Terrorism emanating from Pakistan.

Fact remains, as it happened in last years BRICKS summit also, There is no rule that BRICKS summit doesn't cover security related issues.
Moreover Terrorism is threat to both peace and prosperity. Obviously No meaningful discussion on economic development is possible, without holistically discussing the role of terrorists in defeating the very purpose for which BRICKS exists.

If India is not allowed to share its concerns, and if these concerns are not addressed in the BRICKS summit, What utility BRICKS summit serves for India to remain active member of this group?

Hopefully, Indian Prime minister will speak clearly about role of Pakistan in supporting terrorist infrastructure against India.

India and Russia have decades old friendship, its time Russia needs to take clear stand against terrorism. If Russia doesn't support Indian case, it effectively means, its working to protect Pakistan along with China.

Last year China was able to successfully defeat India on Indian soil, now its diplomatic test for India to defeat China on its own soil by getting included Pakistan based terrorist organizations in the Summit declaration.

The roles being played by India and China are almost certain. Now All eyes are on Russian role.

Hence the question is. Will Russia speak in favor of India or remain in silent mode against India?

Doklam Issue got resolved in Indian favor, but India has to fight many more diplomatic battles with China. Lets see, who wins in this round.
