You know, Indraa 2017 is 10 days long first ever tri services military exercise (involving army, navy and air force) that India will conduct with any of its foreign partners.
This exercise will draft a total of 700 ground troops from both India and Russia and 50 aircraft including warplanes and helicopters.

Interestingly During this year's drill, Russian and Indian troops will simulate a naval blockade and anti-submarine combat, involving three destroyers, a large anti-submarine ship and a submarine to its proceedings.
This elevated level of military drill again underlines the unique position of Russian friendship in Indian foreign policy. This is very emphatic way to clear any doubt about dilution in New Delhi Moscow relationship due to New Delhi Washington relationship .
Whether China accept or reject, it understands the strength of Indo Russia Friendship. The Indian message is rather simple, Indian foreign relationship is not zero sum game and India has the capacity to engage with both Russia and America in friendly relationship at the same time. This unique Indian positioning makes china worry the most.
Significantly, these war games will be played off the coast of Russian Primorye Region, which shares border with both China and North Korea.
Leveraging the experience of this military drill, India will be able to increase its military influence in North East Asia and Pacific ocean.
In this war game, Russian forces have the opportunity to show case their new weapons and equipment to Indian forces.
During this drill, Indian forces can confirm if these Russian capabilities can fill any gap in Indian defense preparedness.
