Going a step further, Russian foreign minister promised every possible support to make Pakistan a developed Country.
Growing friendship bond in between Russia and Pakistan is certainly a matter of concern for India. At the same time, it reduces American bargaining power against Pakistan to a great extent.
New Russian role confirms, There are no permanent friends or permanent enemies, There are only permanent interests.
India getting closer to America and Israel, created distance in India Russia relationship.
Loss of lucrative Indian defense deals made Russia establish defense relationship with Pakistan.
Now Russia is not only selling 20 M I 35 attack helicopters to Pakistan, but also both nations are negotiating deal on Sukhoi 35 and Sukhoi 37 fighter jets.
Now consider this, While America stopped selling F 16 fighter jets to Pakistan, Russia is now ready to sell Sukhoi 35 and Sukhoi 37 to Pakistan.
Whenever Russia sells such advanced system to Pakistan, they will say, these equipment are meant for anti terror operations.
But we all know, these will be used effectively against India.
Rather making matter worse, Indian armed forces are still heavily dependent on Russian defense equipment. Russia selling same or similar kind of weapons and equipment to Pakistan will create strain in India Russia defense partnership.
You know, one of the major negative point against India buying F 16 fighter jets, is that Pakistan has already been using them. Hence, Pakistan already knows strength and weakness of F 16.
Going forward, No doubt we need to be more cautious while dealing with Russia.
Its worth mentioning, That Indian intention has been to buy best defense equipment for our armed forces. Russia has simply lost in the Intense competition.
Now Indian focus is on Make In India under Strategic partnership model. The success of few Indo Russia joint defense projects confirms, That India and Russia can collaborate and build world class defense equipment.
If Russia still prefers Buyer seller relationship, Unfortunately Russia and Pakistan trade relationship is going to be stronger with each passing year.
As far as defense relationship is concerned, we are on the right path. Moreover, Russia is not only playing Pakistan against India, but also against America.
