Hello Friends, welcome to Real Quick Info channel. Lets discuss about today's topic.
After the talks in between Prime ministers of India and Israel, joint statement has been issued with substantial reference to Israel Palestine Peace process.
Both leaders have supported an early resumption of peace talks in between Israel and Palestine, to arrive at a comprehensive negotiated solution on all outstanding issues.
In a way, this joint statement confirms Indian support for Two state solution and Israel's acknowledgement of Indian position.
In this background, while Israeli Prime minister is still in India, news has broken out, that Narendra Modi will become first Indian Prime minister to visit Palestine on February 10.
This is once again appears to be an Indian balancing act. As Indian global stature grows, we have got to master this art of balancing the relationships.
However, this balancing acts highlights the facts that Indian attempt to de-hyphenate Israel and Palestine has not been successful.
Rather, its naive to expect that we can ever be able to separate India - Israel relationship from India - Palestine relationship.
However, separate handling of each of these relationships, awards us with greater flexibility to balance these relationships.
Moreover, Indian aim should be to contribute to establishment of lasting peace in West Asia. In order to assume such role, India cannot afford to take sides.
Please mind here, As confirmed by joint statement, Indian balanced position is not against its time tested friend Israel.
Moreover, India is not only engaging with Palestine, but also with Jordan and Egypt , which are key stakeholders in Israel Palestine crisis.
Before first ever Palestine visit of Modi, foreign minister of Egypt will be arriving in India.
After Modi returns from Palestine, Jordan's King is expected to visit India.
Indian growing profile in Arab world, certainly weakens the position of Pakistan. Even Israel is trying to build better relationships with Arab countries based on its capability to offer deals.
You might have noticed, Pakistan was very eager to cast India and Israel alliance, as alliance against Muslim religion.
If we stop balancing acts, we will straightaway confirm the carefully crafted narrative of Pakistan.
No way, India can afford to do an act which will end up making its enemy in Pakistan stronger.
Now, rather than looking at parts, if you look at holistically, one thing is sure, India is rightfully occupying the positive global leadership role.
As far as we understand, Modi should be given credit for shunning inhibition deeply rooted in Indian diplomacy. Now India is confident enough to engage in wide Public view, and have balanced friendship in between Israel and Palestine, which are sworn enemy of each other.
As per your views, Does first ever Palestine visit of Prime Minister Modi make sense?
