Hello Friends, welcome to Real Quick Info channel. Lets discuss about today's topic.
While we all have discussed a lot about Unmanned Arial Vehicles, which are increasingly becoming the main arm of major air forces around the world.
While America, Russia and China are seriously investing in research and development towards creation of Fully autonomous Unmanned ground vehicles.
But In the year 2016, Israel first deployed fully automated self driving military vehicles to patrol the border along the Gaza strip.
Now, Israel is working on equipping these vehicles with weapons such as machine guns.
They are even looking to raise mixed combat units of robotic vehicles and human soldiers.
Right now, all weapons mounted on Semi autonomous Unmanned ground vehicle are controlled remotely by human soldiers, but fully autonomous Unmanned ground vehicle will be empowered with robust artificial intelligence system to control weapons as well.
Unmanned Ground Vehicle can also play combat support roles, including providing fire support to Human soldiers.
In the future, Israel aims to raise Unmanned Ground Vehicle fighting force as well.
Keeping in view this future, Defense research and development organization has developed Daksh, which is an electrically powered and remotely controlled robot used for locating, handling and destroying hazardous objects safely.
First batch of DRDO Daksh entered in services in the year 2011.
But time has come for India to be ready for War in future.
In this background, we all are quite aware of remarkable success Japan has made in Robotics.
Right now, Japan is employing 2.5 Lakh industrial robotic workers. They have aim of having 10 Lakh robotic workers in next 15 years.
Given that Japan holds valuable intellectual property in the areas of Artificial intelligence and Robotics.
India can certainly take advantage of this, and leapfrog in the area of Unmanned Ground Vehicle development.
In this background, As per news published in Economic Times, Japanese State minister of foreign affairs Kentaro Sonoura said, there will be increased cooperation in between India and Japan to develop Unmanned Ground Vehicles.
As the importance and advantages of such fully autonomous combat vehicles are very obvious, without wasting any time, we should grab the helping hand of Japan and collaboratively develop world class Unmanned Ground vehicles.
If we miss this opportunity, we will have to request Israel or America to sell us Unmanned Ground vehicles as well.
There may again be same problem, of armed and unarmed Unmanned ground vehicles.
Future wars will be fought by robots, we can clearly foresee it. If we miss this opportunity, we will clearly lag behind China.
Learning from problems and delay faced during acquisition of Unmanned aerial vehicles, We should take Japanese offer with utmost seriousness. There is no point in reinventing the wheel, when Japan is ready to cooperate with us.
As per your views, Should India collaborate with Japan on design and development of Unmanned Ground Vehicles?
