Why should India play Naval War Games in South China Sea?

Last year in August, China started negotiations with Asean countries to come up with code of conduct in the South China Sea.
While all involved parties have welcomed the start of negotiations, but China continued its land reclamation activities in the area.
Latest pictures obtained by a Philippine newspaper have confirmed, these negotiations have given enough time for china to consolidate its maritime power over South China Sea.
These images have clearly shown Chinese runways, Hangers, control towers and helipads over reclaimed land.
You know, China has claimed entire south china sea as its own and continue to build new artificial islands, and militarize them on a very fast pace. While all other south china sea countries have contested Chinese claim.
Chinese idea is rather simple, while all other global powers are entangled in web of problems, taking advantage China continue to move ahead on its strategy.
There is very little hope, that ASEAN countries alone will be able to stop Chinese activities in South China Sea.
As you can understand, Even after America Continued its freedom of navigation operations, there is no change in Chinese behavior.
So the question is how to effectively bring about change in Chinese attitude?
We all know, Shaping up Quad platform, leaders from America, Australia, India and Japan met last year in November.
so far as South china sea is concerned, Each of these four nations want to see change in Chinese behavior, Unfortunately Each one of them is working in same direction without any effective co-ordination.
Since each member of Quad forum has strong trade relationship with China, it’s difficult for any one of them to individually take a drastic step, which may risk damaging its bilateral relationship with China.
That’s fine, but these four nations can at least issue a joint statement without taking Chinese name calling for freedom of navigation and rule of international law in South China sea.
So far as we think, Even these joint statements are going to have NO effect on China.
While Individual member of The quad can not do much. However the quad forum can still serve a strong warning to China by planning and conducting periodic joint naval drill in South China Sea.
We all know, India America and Japan are conducting annual Malabar Naval Exercise in Bay of Bengal.
While Australia can also be made another permanent member of this Naval Exercise, but still Malabar Naval game will remain focused on Indian Ocean.
Hence time has come, for Quad countries to play Naval game in South China Sea. Enough of boring Malabar naval games, let’s do something exciting.
These games can easily be conducted along the coastal disputed water in south china sea.
You can easily understand, China can cry against such war games, but do effectively nothing.
Moreover, such challenging act of The quad, will encourage ASEAN countries to bargain hard with China while framing the code of conduct for South China Sea.
Being Important shipping route for trade and rich in natural resources, all nations, Except China, want South China Sea to remain open for all.
Hence, Joint Naval game will communicate most effective message to China. If the Quad doesn’t step up to meet the Chinese challenge, the day is not far, when all countries in the region have to inform China and seek its permission before using shipping route through South China sea.
So far as India is concerned, if we do not confront china in South China Sea, China will definitely confront India in Indian Ocean. The choice is rather obvious here.
