Away from Public eyes, Indian foreign and defense secretaries have completed their American visit on last Sunday.
More surprisingly, On Monday, Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has left for America to hold strategically super important dialogue.
In this background, Now a days, we listen a new phrase "Indo Pacific". No one knows with surety, what is the role of India in Indo Pacific region.
As per US department of defense, India comes under its Pacific command.
However, India considers the entire region right from Gulf of Aden to west coast of America as Indo Pacific area.
Interestingly, United States Central Command has Middle East and central Asia as its Areas of responsibility.
Needless to say, In American strategic viewpoint, Central command hold immense importance. From Indian viewpoint also, Central command is where real action takes place.
In its area, Central command directs four services of American Armed forces.
One of these service forces is United States Naval Force Central Command, which covers Red Sea, Gulf Of Oman, Persian Gulf and Arabian sea as its areas of responsibility.
Now, you can very easily figure out, for any meaningful cooperation in Indo Pacific region, there must be better coordination in between Indian Navy and United States Naval Forces Central Command.
As per news report published in Hindustan Times newspaper, India will post a military attaché in the Bahrain headquarter of United States Naval Forces Central Command.
This high ranking military officer will ensure that Naval forces of both countries have same level of understanding about strategic operations.
Now on wards, there will be no communication gap so far as operational matters are concerned.
His main role will be to ensure smooth implementation of India America logistical framework agreement.
In addition, an Indian Military official will also be posted at the American Defense Innovation Unit Experimental, which provides funds to private companies to work on cutting edge technologies.
This Indian representative, will be able to identify new advanced solutions, and explore if any one of them can be made in India.
To you these postings seem small matter, but they are rather Path braking initiative.
These posting will ensure better cooperation and coordination in between India and America in future.
India and America have also agreed to Play war games involving all three armed forces.
It’s quite possible, such more complex war game will soon be played around Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
You are wise enough to realize the strategic and geopolitical significance of these decisions.
Now, you know, why these secretary and NSA level meetings are going on. Unfortunately, not much attention is paid to these visits, in which majority of the work gets done. You know, during head of state level visits, only speeches are delivered.
