We all know, Soon Prime Minister Modi is going to have significant informal meeting with president Putin.



As its widely expected, Amid concerns about Possible american sanctions on India, Modi and Putin may pave the way for mega Indo Russia defense deals.



While India is right in saying that our relationship with other nations is not dictated by third country.



The fact is, we cannot become a victim of cross fire going on in between global powers.



Understandably, just before this meeting, Senior official in Trump Administration has reminded India about Trump bound to seriously implement american laws to evaluate any potential large defense purchase from Russia .



While saying that America doesn't want to impose sanctions on partners, she was clear to say that having major defense deals with Russia will inevitably invite American sanctions.



As we realize, The primary aim of these american sanctions is to deny revenue from defense deals to president Putin.



We all know, Back in Washington the efforts are being made to amend the US law to allow for presidential waiver to friendly countries for Russian defense deals.



In this background, the timing of any major defense deals in between India and Russia becomes very important.



we all know, More important than doing right thing, is doing right thing at right time.



Lets be clear, buying any large scale defense system from Russia before the American law is amended may put amendment process itself in jeopardy.



While balancing our relationship, somehow we have to ensure minimum collateral damage for us.



While upcoming informal India Russia meet has made America raise the red flags.



Last Informal India China meeting has sent Japan in worrying mode.



Perhaps for the first time in recent years, Japanese prime minister called up Prime Minister Modi early last week, however in this regard We didn't get any formal update from Indian foreign ministry.



Japanese prime minister has asked India to remain committed to countering hegemonic aspiration of China in Indo Pacific.



We all know, recently Chinese strategic bombers have landed for the first time on the island in South China sea .



We all understand, right now China has tried to have better relationship with India, but if you take a step back, you will realize that China has basically reconfigured its method to proceed ahead.



The aggressive Chinese behavior in south China sea will sooner or later be reflected on Line of Actual control as well.



Before that happens, India must engage with China to get the maximum relief.



As we understand, by reciprocating to Chinese overtures, India has tried to increase its total bargaining power.


Diplomatic relationship rests on mutual give and take. without getting substantial trade concessions from China, India would be foolish to antagonize America and Japan.



Thanks to American pressure, There is possibility of China buying American agricultural commodities worth 200 Billion dollars in order to reduce bilateral trade deficit.



We have hardly seen any such talks going in between India and China.

As far as we think, India should not become satisfied by bringing relationship back to post doklam era.



While welcoming increasing Chinese investment in India, we should focus on reducing bilateral trade deficit and force China to contain Pakistan.



If China doesn't do any of these two things, we will effectively allow China to use us now, and throw us later on.
