Hello Friends, welcome to Real Quick Info channel. Lets discuss about today's topic.



You might know a lot of talk is going on about this new book, 'Spy Chronicles: RAW, I S I and the Illusion of Peace'.







This book is result of collaboration among A S Daulatt who is former head of Research and Analysis Wing, and Asad Durrani, who is Former chief of Pakistan Inter Services Intelligence.











This book covers many interesting points, including one full chapter dedicated to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.







Please remember, Mr Daulatt is well known liberal, who has been criticizing the current strategy formulated by Doval himself.







you know, right now, There is no formal talks going in between India and Pakistan in order to resolve the outstanding issues.







However, We all know, back channel talks keep on taking place,



In order to break this formal logjam, Mr Daulatt had proposed the idea of Inviting Ajit Doval to Lahore.







In fact, His Pakistani friends liked the idea to call the person, who is the key in current Indian administration.







However, Pakistan didn't invite him, perhaps they didn't have courage to have him there for talk.







Needless to say, meanwhile NSAs of both countries have continued to remain in touch without any substantial result.







Mr Daulat is very right in his assessment, when he says that Pakistan's current NSA is not at par with Ajit Doval.







In fact, we all have read in the recent past, it was frustrating for Mr Doval to have talk with Pakistan's NSA, because he wields considerably less power in Pakistan's administration.







We all clearly remember, Pakistan's current Army chief had promised to support dialogue with India.







Given he is the most important person in Pakistan, Mr Daulatt has proposed the idea of talk in between Pakistan's Army Chief and Ajit Doval.







It appears to be very promising idea, and this dialogue may pave the way for better relationship in between two hostile neighbors.







However, we are not sure, if Ajit Doval himself will like this idea.







The point is, current Indian position was to engage directly with civilian elected government.







In fact, back In the year 2015, Prime Minister Modi even asked President Obama to stop engaging with Pakistan's army, but with democratic government.







Needless to say, President Obama didn't follow this advice, and American officials even now continue to visit GHQ Rawalpindi to have talk with military leadership of Pakistan.







The point, we are trying to make, There is hardly anything India can get by Doval Bajawa Talk.







More importantly, Bajawa may retire in next 20 months and India may have new government in the year 2019.







Talk for the sake of talk can happen, and it would definitely provide very good masala to media of both countries, however before having such a high level talk, there is need to prepare hard ground for it.







We all remember with the same logic, Mr Prime minister Bajpayi directly invited then Army chief Mussaraf for Agra summit, which miserably failed.







As far as we think, it perfectly makes sense to have Doval Bajawa talk. However, prevailing conditions don't create atmosphere for it.







We don't find any reason for these two leaders to meet just to agree for another cease fire agreement, which will only be broken sooner than later.







Until  Pakistan's army stops perceiving India as existential threat, there is no point in talking to them.







Having said that, we should talk to our people in Kashmir and try to find a workable solution meanwhile.
