While speaking at Vivekananda international foundation, our senior most military Commander Admiral Sunil Lamba has categorically denied the possibility of quad assuming any military role in near future.



Though this organization can play important role in economic and security collaboration space, yet it would be realistic to expect that no quad member can help us, if there is confrontation with China along the Line of actual control.



Lets be frank,  Even we don't want to be in the scenario, when we have to look elsewhere for the protection of our mother land.



This brings us to important conclusion, that India should never be over dependent on any other country or organization.



While current American leadership at the very top is quite unreliable, we must appreciate the fact that president trump has very seasoned members in his team.



No wonder, In front of Senates Foreign relations committee, American foreign secretary Mike Pompeo has clearly underlined the need to make India one of America's closest partner.



He has gone to the extent of granting India a central role in what America is doing in South Central Asia and South East Asia.



While advocating for greater Indian role in American strategy, He also urged senate to grant American president the power to provide waiver from economic sanctions, if India enters into major defense agreement with Russia in near future.



In this week, he made the same request to American House of representatives as well.



This clearly demonstrates the commitment of current american administration to provide relief for India.



This brings us to central question, why america is doing all this?



The answer is, democratic India allow America to meet its strategic objectives in Indo Pacific region without any cost to American tax payers.



if you look at other american strategic partners or NATO, majority of cost is born by American tax payers.

America has to invest a lot in its budget, because it is net security provider to majority of its small partners.



Not long ago, Pakistan being strategic partner was largely dependent on American funding.

By defeating Soviet Union in Afghanistan, Pakistan might have helped America, but America has continued funding Pakistan's defense capability development.



On the other hand, Indian themselves have always paid for the defense capabilities development.



America just has to share technology,  and India will not only pay for it, but can build on top of it.



With more might behind it, India can play bigger role in Indo Pacific area without being any kind of burden on American tax payers.



few decades ago, America has established closer economic relationship with China assuming, this relationship itself will transform China into some what similar to America.



The assumption, that China will never pose a threat to American interest has fallen flat on the ground now.



However, Being largest democracy in the world, India already believes in the same principals America believes in.



That's what makes American administration to seek greater role for India in future.



In simpler words, in the current scenario, America needs India more than India needs America.



However, we will never put our all eggs in single basket. We will continue to remain engaged with all friendly countries in the world.



We have always supported multi polar world and rule based order. We will continue to do so in foreseeable future.



Indian Prime Minister's recent China and Russia visit just confirm this.



So far as Pakistan is concerned, we cannot engage, because its so much blind by Hatred towards India, that It fails to see where its own long term national interests lies.
