Hello Friends, welcome to Real Quick Info channel.
Lets discuss about today's topic.
Majority of us hold the clear opinion, that India should not follow One China Policy as long as China doesn't accept One India Policy.
Though Indian government has stopped reaffirming One China Policy since year 2011, yet effectively we have been following it on the ground by not having formal diplomatic relationship with Taiwan.
Not only Most important part of China Pakistan Economic corridor goes to Pakistan occupied Kashmir, but also China has been issuing stapled visa to the residents of Jammu and Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh.
for a resident of any other Indian state, Chinese Visa is stamped on a page of his passport.
However for a resident of J&K and Arunachal Pradesh, Chinese have been stapling visa on a page of his passport.
Though this person can still visit China, yet by issuing stapled visa each time, China highlights the disputed nature of these two integral parts of India.
Now, As per news report published by Chinese news paper Xinhua, during her Chinese visit early this week, Indian foreign affairs minister has reaffirmed Indian commitment to One China policy in her discussion with Chinese foreign minister.
She appears to have communicated, that going forward India will take care of Chinese concerns about Taiwan and Tibet
Understandably, Indian foreign ministry has neither accepted nor rejected the claim made in Chinese news paper.
Lets be frank, Its quite disappointing if India has taken a stand in private meeting, when it cannot afford to showcase the same stand in public.
Without China addressing Indian concern in any manner, its really matter of surprise what made Indian foreign minister to change 7 years policy decision.
More importantly, On the sidelines of the Shanghai cooperation organization summit, Prime minister Modi will meet Chinese president on this Saturday.
Just before this summit level talk, China has placed the demand forward for India to publicly reaffirm Indian commitment to One China policy.
As per China, if India falls in line, it will enhance the mutual trust between the two nations.
So far as we understand, Prime Minister wont go to the extent of public acceptance of One China policy.
Lets be clear, its bargaining chip, India cannot change its position without any reciprocation from Chinese side.
As we say, you need two hands to clap. that's why China should also come forward.
In the past, India used to support One China Policy, and in return China issued stapled visa to Indian citizens.
Moreover We have economic and trade relationship with Taiwan. We cannot trade our friendship with democratic Taiwan just because authoritative china is offering increased mutual trust.
lets be realistic, even if PM Modi supports One China policy. Indian relationship with Taiwan is not going to change at all.
We all know, Using its newly acquired money power, China has been forcing smaller nations to break formal diplomatic relationship with Taiwan.
Amid China forced increasing diplomatic isolation of Taiwan, The temperature in South China Sea is about to rise, as America may send a warship through Taiwan Strait, which is a 'no go' area from Chinese side.
In addition, Next week, America is effectively opening its embassy in Taiwan, but in public it will not call it so.
Amid this brewing turmoil, India should better not change sides.
Indian Prime Minster can have informal friendly chat with Chinese president. however The movement on such complex issues would certainly require a serious give and take.
As per your views, will PM Modi reaffirm Indian support to One China Policy in his next Chinese visit?
