You know, Modi became first ever Indian Prime Minister to visit East African country Rwanda.



India is gifting 200 cows and 200 Million Dollars Line of credit loan to Rwanda. That's fine. We are sure, you know all that.



However, Today, we try to understand, what has made India to wake up from the slumber and Indian Prime Minister had to find time to visit this country.



In terms of Area, India is 124 times bigger than the area of Rwanda.

On the other hand, Indian Gross Domestic Product is 284 times of Rwanda's Gross Domestic Product.



However, As per International Monitory Fund, Rwanda is third fastest growing economy in Africa.



Rwanda is seriously trying to become hub for Africa. Rwanda offers government stability, ease of doing business and very friendly Tax incentives.



Consider this, if a firm invests 10 Million Dollars in Rwanda, it has to pay no Corporate tax.



You know, Corporate tax is a form of tax levied on profits earned by a private firm in a year.

Compare this with India, if your firm has turnover less than 50 Crore, you will have to pay 25% Flat Corporate tax to government of India.



That's why, even Chinese are manufacturing goods in Rwanda.



Having built 70% roads in Rwanda, China is its largest trading partner.



China has been so generous on Rwanda, that it decided to provide debt relief of 160 Million Dollars in the year 2007.



Its basically China giving loan to Rwanda, and when Rwanda showed inability to pay back, China said, we don't want you to pay back. Isn't China a good friend of Rwanda?



Long before we have Heard about Belt and Road Initiative, China has been active in Infrastructural development of Rwanda since year 2000.



So far as Rwanda is concerned, its very poor in Natural resources. Tiny Rwanda doesn't make much sense for China, but the moment you think of Rwanda as hub of Africa, you understand what we are talking about.





From latest ease of doing business ranking perspective , While India is at 100th position, Rwanda is at 41 position. Therefore it has potential to become hub for Africa. 



As Chinese businessmen aptly say, Africa need everything and China make everything.



Consider this, since 1990, the trade in between China and Africa increased by 700%.



As per the data of year 2015, China has trade surplus of massive 38 Billion Dollars with Africa.



Its not Rich America alone, China is earning money even in Poor countries.



China has realized the importance of Africa before anybody else could have.



Now, India has become as reactive force in Africa.

Its china which has taught India the importance of Rwanda, and now India is opening its high commission there.



You know, only after Chinese president Concluded his visit to Rwanda, Indian Prime Minister was welcome there.



Its not that former Indian government didn't do anything to have better relationship with African nations, but as it happened in every other spheres, there has been no sense of urgency and mission.



India has mastered art of making Commitments and forgetting them.



Forget Rwanda, Indians will understand the importance of Bhutan, only when Pro China government is installed there in October this year.



Anyways, returning to Rwanda, As China does anywhere else, for Infrastructure development projects, Workers come from China, they complete the projects and leave behind their illegitimate children in Rwanda's villages.



On lighter note, Thanks to China Pakistan Economic Corridor Project, Pakistan will also have to bring up illegitimate Chinese Children.



Anyways, India and Rwanda can have mutually beneficial relationship.



It would obviously want India as counterbalance power to rising Chinese influence. 



With Prime Minister Modi's Rwanda visit, the new chapter has opened in between India and Rwanda. However, we must stop being reactive to China. We want to see the day, when China follows Indian footsteps.
