While Counting for general election is going on in Pakistan, There is calm prevailing in India, but concern is prevailing in China.



While Indian foreign ministry has many other things to do. Revealing its anxiety, Chinese foreign ministry has said, no matter who wins in the election, China will work closely with Pakistani government.



After investing so much money in Pakistan, China can do nothing except working closely with the elected government.



Now consider this, As per the report published by Wall Street Journal, Pakistan had Guaranteed huge 34 percent annual return on investment to Chinese power companies on Power project covered under China Pakistan Economic Corridor.



You understand, Its very doubtful, even in long term China will be able to get massive 34% return on its investment in these power projects.



Now, you are wise enough to realize, who is trapping whom here. 



Even if Pakistan defaults on payment, China can own these power plant. but just by changing ownership china can never get 34% return on its investments.



Law and order situation in Pakistan has been widely regarded as threat to Chinese investment in Pakistan. That's fine.



However in this election, the All powerful Pakistani Military has been turned into a police force.



After all, Military personnel have been deputed on each poling station.



Its understandable, that in some sensitive areas, you may need help from military, but in this case, Military help is needed to conduct election across Pakistan. 



Moreover, For public consumption, it has been said that Military was asked to help because Election Commission believed, that direct Military involvement would ensure fairness in the election.





However, Even before counting is complete, serious doubts are being raised about fairness of elections.



While helping Pakistan Election Commission, Pakistan Military ended up eroding its own authority in public eyes.



Loss of moral authority of Pakistan Military, cum police force is serious development for China.



Anyways, As you know, Army got willingly involved to ensure victory of Imran Khan.



Now, its mostly clear that He will become Prime Minister of Pakistan.  Given there was no other alternative. Imran khan was chosen by All powerful  Army.



Now, look at this, while India was not a big issue in this Pakistani election, Lack of transparency and corruption in CPEC projects was one of the main issue in this election.



Given very weak economy of Pakistan, Chinese project may end up facing more scrutiny and delay. 



Nevertheless, As long as China is ready to throw its money in Arabian Sea, we need not assume that China Pakistan relationship will face any turmoil in recent time.



Now, Coming to India, The worst thing India can do is to spend effort in normalizing the relationship with Pakistan after this election.



Sending congratulations is fine, we should not waste our national energy on trying to have dialogue with Pakistan.



Given, There is no fundamental change in Pakistan, Imran Khan wont dare to do Nawaz Sharif by trying to have good relationship with India. Else he will obviously have future, what is present for Nawaz Sharif.



The point is simple, Pakistan can change its government, We need not change our strategy. 



On lighter note, We should rather watch how China sinks in Pakistani friendship, which is said to be deeper than oceans.
