Why Iran is THREATENING India now??

While discussing about possible American sanctions on India due to Iranian  oil import, many of our viewers hold the opinion, that America is no one to threaten India. and India should continue importing crude oil from Iran.



But if America has no right to threaten India, Then Iran also has no right whatsoever to threaten India.



Iranian deputy Ambassador to India has clearly threatened to India, that Iran will not provide special privileges to India in case India stops buying crude oil from Iran under american pressure.



First of all, lets be clear, It was not out of friendly generosity of Iran that they provided special deal to India.



For example -  India can purchase oil in Rupees rather than in dollars.  India can also pay for  Iranian crude oil in 60 days, as compared to 30 days period within which other oil exporters demand payment.



Frankly, It was in Iranian national interest to have secured oil purchase commitment from India during last economic sanctions.





Moreover, India must be given due credit and respect that we managed to get waiver from Obama administration to continue Iranian crude oil purchase.



We have also not forgotten, As soon as sanctions were lifted, Iranians were seen changing colors.



Iran should rather take credit, where its due.



Anyways that's not the point. we are just trying to highlight here is, There is no friendship involved here. otherwise Iran would not have threatened India about consequences when India has not even taken the final decision.



If Iran has its national interest supreme, does India not have right to keep its national interest supreme.



If India also has such right, Iran is absolutely wrong in issuing threats to India.



No one is saying, India is going to benefit from stopping oil purchase from Iran.



Whether we buy crude oil from Iran or not, There will be loss to India.



The question is, we got to take decision here to ensure net minimum loss to overall national interests.



That's why we like, that Indian government is not getting emotions involved here.



What is rather surprising is the Iranian deputy ambassador's comment, that India is not making promised investment in Cha bahar.



India is ready to spend money, but Can Iran guarantee that private companies will not face American sanctions if they continue work in Iran's Cha bahar port.



When Indian public sector companies cannot deliver in India, Iran can blame itself for expecting that Indian public sector companies will deliver in Iran.



Frankly No port can survive on government patronage alone, you need private companies ready to jump in the opportunity. That's what is clearly missing here.



Here again, Iran has indulged into pointing fingers towards India despite knowing fully well, why Cha bahar port could not pick up, as it should have.



That's why in this tough time, India and Iran should work together rather than indulging in blame game. In fact, that's why India is trying to convince United states to let Cha bahar port remain unaffected by proposed american sanctions.



If you allow us to say, India has historical relationship with Iran, not with the regime there.



As Great Chanakya always asked to distinguish in between kingdom and king. Our commitment should be towards the kingdom not the king.



All Trump is asking for Iranian regime to come on the table for discussion on fair deal.



If not sooner, then later Iran will have to come to dialogue table. and There will be new deal.





That's the eventuality India is aware of. and that's why we want to maintain friendly relationship with both America and Iran.





President Trump follows his words with action. disregarding President Trump's warning, China dared to retaliate against America in first round of trade war involving just 34 Billion dollars. Trump has now effectively started process to impose tariffs on Chinese goods worth whopping 200 Billion dollars  by September this year.



Make no mistake, Donald J Trump will ensure maximum pressure campaign on American friends and foes equally, including both China and Iran.  For him, Simple policy of America first matter most.



The idea is simple, If America has America first policy, and Iran has Iran first policy, why India should not have India first policy?
