The debate is going on the possible corruption in Indian purchase of Rafael Fighter jets from France.



While we don't expect, Rahul Gandhi to understand the basic difference in between a naked Fighter aircraft and Fully loaded Fighter Aircraft.



However, as per Modi government, In comparison to  failed UPA negotiated Rafael deal, NDA was able to buy Rafael jet 9% cheaper in new deal.



More importantly, NDA was able to buy fully weaponized Rafael fighter jet 20% cheaper.



While these two comparative data points are just put forward by current government.  the data will be presented to Controller Auditor General of India.



Therefore, While listening repeated allegations of Rahul Gandhi. We must wait for formal CAG Audit on Rafael deal before reaching conclusion.



But today, we will discuss the CAG findings about Indian procurement of 8 P8I maritime reconnaissance aircraft in the year 2009.



You know, In defense procurement, India buys equipment from L1 Supplier, which offers the lowest cost.



After detailed technical analysis, Airbus A319 long range maritime patrol aircraft and Boeing P8I were found fit for the needs of India Navy.



Now, based on the price the final decision was to be taken.



For simplicity lets assume, the price of Airbus option was A, and Price of Boeing option was B.



More significantly, Price A included the product support cost for 20 years, but Price B did not include support cost.



Its very natural, that with support cost involved, Price A will be more than Price B.



The basic question is, before comparing two cost sheets, why UPA government did not ask Boeing, to add 20 years support cost to their price B.



Despite knowing that it was comparison in between apple and oranges, UPA government chose Boeing Option because price B was lesser, than price A of Airbus option.



Its clear case of favoring Boeing over Airbus by knowingly making Boeing the L1 supplier, when it was Airbus in reality



What can be more shameful, after concluding the deal at the cost of massive 2.1 Billion Dollar, UPA government negotiated separate product support package for P8I aircraft.



Even before we buy a laptop, we ask about after sales service and if there is any associated cost or not. but under Defacto Prime Minister Rahul Gandhi, Indian government deliberately failed to ask for after sales support before buying 8 P8I aircrafts.



Any anti submarine aircraft must have sonobouy sensor, which is air dropped device, which floats on the water and transmit the location of submarines to the aircraft.



But UPA government procured weaker sensors only for one year.



Now, you tell, what is the advantage of buying an anti submarine aircraft, when it has very limited or no capability to detect submarine. In fact, without this capability, no aircraft deserved to be called an anti submarine aircraft.



The sad story doesn't end with Radar and sensors but critical ammunition for anti submarine warfare had not been purchased as part of deal.





While asking Why Rafael entered in offset obligation with Reliance Defense, no body is asking, why UPA government didn't force Boeing deliver on offset obligation, by procuring from Indian defense companies equipment worth 646 Million Dollars.



Now, Just like the media, saving  Rahul Gadhi, we can also say, UPA committed Mistake in buying P8I from Boeing.



Or UPA ignored the complaints. Or proper procedure was not followed in procurement.



However, we would like to ask, How much congress party got the kickback while signing check of 2.1 Billion Dollars to Boeing?



What is rather surprising, while defending Rafael Deal, Current NDA government is not at all attacking on last UPA government.



Should BJP not ask question related to corruption in P8I Procurement from Rahul Gandhi on behalf of the country?



NDA Government might have committed corruption in Rafael. Rahul Gandhi has absolute right to ask question. But he should also answer the basic question, why his government deliberately favored Boeing over Airbus.





As no answer is provided, It appears, using Boeing as hawala channel, Indian tax payers money has been Routed from India to America and back to India.
