As we all know, in first round of trade war, America slapped 25% tariffs on Chinese goods worth 50 Billion Dollars.



Trump Administration was under the assumption, that China would come to dialogue table with meaningful offer due to these tariffs.



Instead China retaliated by slapping 25% tariffs on American goods worth 50 Billion Dollars.



While hard negotiations have been going on in between America and China, American side realized, though Chinese delegation was ready to enter into Trade Deal with America, yet red flag is being shown from the top of Chinese government.



Since, talks were not making any  progress whatsoever, President trump has said, that he would slap 25% tariffs  on Chinese goods worth 200 Billion Dollars in second round, and on rest Chinese goods worth 267 Billion Dollars in the third round.



Thus President trump has threatened to put tariffs on all Chinese goods worth 517 Billion Dollars imported in American market in three rounds of trade war.





In order to understand the scale of this trade war, consider this, Last year China exported goods worth only 76 Billion Dollars to India.



Last year, During Doklam standoff, there were calls in Indian social media to stop buying Chinese goods. Chinese diplomats were proudly shouting,  that even if India stops buying all Chinese goods worth 76 Billion dollars, nothing is going to happen to China. But now the Chinese camel has come under the American mountain



Because, Major Chinese market is under the direct threat from President Trump.



Sensing the danger of full scale trade war, Chinese president indirectly communicated to America about their willingness to talk before second round of trade war.



In response, America happily extended the invitation for trade talks with China.



As we all understand, China has mastered the art of using negotiation as perfect tool to protect the status quo, which benefits China alone.



Lets keep talking for the sake of talking, but allow us to sell cheap Chinese goods in huge quantities in your market,. This is how, China has grown from 1 Trillion Dollar economy in the year 2000, to 13 Trillion Dollar Economy in the year 2017.



Keeping in view American invitation to Chinese for talks, we felt that America is again falling in Chinese negotiation trap.



But this American president has decided to apply his maximum pressure policy on China.



As reported in Wall street Journal, As a greatest escalation in trade war with China, President Trump has decided to impose 10% tariffs  on Chinese goods worth 200 Billion Dollars, even before China could come to dialogue table as per recently issued invitation.



Interestingly, President Trump would increase tariffs  to 25% from current level of 10% tariffs, only  if China doesn't accept American demand of opening its market and stop stealing American intellectual property.



Basically, President trump wants to squeeze China, so that it is forced to change    its economically criminal behaviors.



But meanwhile, American consumers will have to pay the price of this trade war.



In this round, tariffs will be imposed on  1000 products including refrigerators, Air Conditioner, furniture, televisions and toys.



Now, Their price will go up for sure in the year end American shopping season 

Mind it, On 6 of November there will be midterm election for American congress and senate.



It takes a lot of courage to impose tariffs  just before mid term election. If Trump loses his Republican majority in house and Senates, he may be impeached as well. The point, we are trying to make, the stakes cannot be higher for president trump.



Despite knowing all this, president trump has decided to go ahead with his tariffs on China.



Recently, Apple complained that iphone price would go up if tariffs  are applied. To which President Trump tweeted, Why Apple only wants to sell iphone to Americans at highest possible price, but making them in China at cheapest possible cost.



Apple loves only profit. it doesn't matter to Apple if Americans are getting poor or losing jobs or not.




Many experts who oppose president trump's method of trade war, if you ask them any other way to change criminal behavior of China, which has become blood sucking parasite for the whole world.



By Showing their intelligence They would foolishly say, negotiations with China should be the way. 



When Simple Negotiations have not yielded any result in last 20 years. these negotiations will not deliver anything in next 20 years as well.



In fact, Negotiations are still going on in between America and China. But Now, Pressure is on China, because its main market is closing its door for cheap Chinese goods.



Needless to say, in the short term American consumer will also bear the pain for this trade war. 



But you cannot make omelette without breaking some eggs.



Now that full scale trade war has broken out, lets see, when China starts  begging with both hands for free and fair trade deal with America. 



Amid all this, there is a lesson for India. if you don't fight for something, you don't get anything.



As elections come closer, there is no hope that Indian leadership will be able to fight for free and fair trade deal with China.



The problem, even if India is not fighting a trade war, Indians are still paying the price in falling value of rupees. As American market is closing, Tsunami of Cheap Chinese goods will soon overwhelm Indian market.



Meanwhile, we can only optimistically assume if China opens its market for America, it may open its market for other countries like India as well.



Now, the trade war has reached the scale our world has never seen before. President Trump wins or Loses, it doesn't matter. Here is a president who is fighting for the future of his own country.
