Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue, Indian Army chief has made an interesting comment that India should talk to Taliban if they want peace in Afghanistan.



In this background, our viewer Nayan Sharma has asked us to make a video on whether India should talk to Taliban or not.



Few days ago, we published a video, in which we have foolishly advocated that if Russia can now talk to Taliban, India should also explore direct engagement with Taliban.



While we totally appreciate views of Indian Army chief, but the problem is, the condition he has put forward about Taliban wanting peace in Afghanistan will never fulfill.



As we always say, those who don't learn from the past, they will continue to repeat the mistakes of Past in Future.



First of all, we must stop differentiating in between Pakistan and Taliban.



In the year 1994, How the movement of religious students, which were known as Talib, got  transformed into Taliban.



Neither Russians were there in Afghanistan nor American were funding Afghan resistance movement then.



Lets face it, Pakistan created Taliban and ensured its survival across all odds.



When American forces were bombing Afghanistan, who provided safe heaven to Taliban. You know the answer is Pakistan.



Taliban exists today, Thanks to Pakistan.



Pakistan made Russia and China talk to Taliban by exploiting their desire to make America bleed more in Afghanistan.



Pakistan laid the trap and both Russia and China got into it. By talking to Taliban, they have given legitimacy to Taliban and its strength continue to rise.



The fundamental question is, Russia and China are using Taliban against America today, what is the guarantee that Taliban will not work against Russia and China tomorrow once Americans leave Afghanistan.



Every other expert say that Americans don't know what to do in Afghanistan, but no one asks this simple question, do Russian and Chinese know what they want to do with Afghanistan.



What big success Russia and China have achieved by talking to Taliban for so many times in the past?



If Taliban's talks with American failed, Americans are considered fool, but when Taliban's talks with Russia and China don't achieve anything, Russia and China are considered very smart.



Effectively, be it America, be is Russia or be it China, these all are roosters in the eyes of generals sitting in Rawalpindi.



Now, if India also start talking to Taliban, are we looking for peace in Afghanistan or are we giving a major victory to Pakistan on plate.



As we talked yesterday, Here is Taliban which is not even ready to talk to Afghan government and  newly started afghan peace dialogue simply collapsed.



If peace were the goal of Taliban, what is the problem in talking to Afghan government.



The goal is to gain full control on the territory after Americans run away from Afghanistan.



You tell, If achieving peace was the objective of Pakistan created Taliban, Why American war on Afghanistan has been going on for last 17 years?



Americans are so disparate to run away from Afghanistan that they just want face saving exit.



When Pakistan created Taliban is not ready to provide graceful exit to Americans.  will same Taliban provide Indians graceful entry to Afghanistan. The answer is No.



Pakistan created Taliban not because it wanted to control Afghanistan, but it's real target is India.



You may recall, two years before 9/11 attack on America happened, In December 1999, Indian airline flight was hijacked and got landed in Taliban control Afghanistan.



The point we are trying to make it is simple, Once Taliban gets control of Afghanistan, we will get peace neither in Afghanistan nor in any where else in the world including India.



Assuming that Taliban controlled Afghanistan will be peaceful is like we are living in fools paradise. The real game will start only after Taliban gets control of Afghanistan.



Americans know this reality that if they don't fight Taliban in Afghanistan, they will have to fight Taliban in America.



Unfortunately, we Indians not only tend to forget the past but also start having fancy dreams about the future.



When Pakistan is fighting war of attrition only to win, it would be foolish to think that we can stop the war by aiming at peace.



Rather than peace, Pakistan wants victory, that's why its ready to fight even for 1000 years. If you want peace, why would you even think of fighting for generations.



War of attrition is won by the side having more resources like money and time. If Pakistan is ready to fight for 1000 years, why are we not planning to fight for 2000 years?



When Pakistan knows it, Americans are desperate to run away from Afghanistan, why will it provide honorable exit to Americans so that they can claim victory later on.



If Americans genuinely want to win Afghanistan war, they must stop planning about eventual withdrawal from Afghanistan. They should rather plan to stay there forever.



Americans say they are spending 60 Billion Dollars each year in Afghanistan, Can they not create American enterprise in Afghanistan which will earn 600 Billion Dollars in year?



Americans can do it, but they will have to change their approach from eventual withdrawal to permanent occupation.



With each presidential election, when call for eventual troops withdrawal from Afghanistan grows, All Pakistan has to do is to wait, till one day Americans eventually accept their fate.



The point is simple, American president think of two terms with 8 years tenures, but they are engaged with an enemy with horizon of next 1000 years.



Unfortunately, here in India also we have limited horizon, that's why we prefer peace to victory. but we cannot win against an enemy like Pakistan for whom victory is more important than peace.



Majority of us tend to believe that Kashmir is root cause of problems in between India and Pakistan. But if you could carefully see, Till now Pakistan has been successful in creating Kashmir as main problem for India.



If it has been possible, Pakistan would have love to make 1000 Kashmirs in India right today.



Those who consider themselves as the true heir of Mughals, do you think, they will remain contented only by getting limited in Indus valley?



Talk for the sake of it have been going on for last so many years, India can also start the talk. But just like recently collapsed talks with America, all future talks with Taliban will also fail.



Because the goal of Pakistan is the victory not the peace.
