You might have read about China fiercely protesting Arunachal Pradesh visit of Indian Prime Minister.



In response, India clearly retorted that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.



The question is, why China reacted so sharply against visit of Indian Prime Minister's Arunachal pradesh.



Before answering this question, we must recall that during 1962 War, Chinese army was able to capture Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh.



After declaring unilateral ceasefire, China withdrew troops to line of Actual Control.



Even now, as Tawang is administered by India, China claims it as its own.



At the height of 13700 feet, Sela Pass connects Tawang with rest of India.



But Thanks to landslides and heavy snow fall, this sela pass frequently shuts down. Its responsibility of border roads organization to keep this pass open throughout the year.



Despite momentarily losing Tawang in 1962, 56 years have passed, but successive Indian government could not build a tunnel so that Tawang remain always connected with India.



More Importantly, Se La pass located on the road connecting Tezpur Army Head Quarter to Tawang.



In the event of Chinese attack on Tawang, Indian armed forces would fall at the mercy of weather to reach Tawang and protect it.



Thankfully, in last year's budget, Government of India has provided funding for the under ground construction of Sela Tunnel under Sela Pass.



In his recent Visit, Indian prime Minister laid the foundation stone to build two sela tunnels at the cost of 687 crores.



Once these two tunnels are constructed in next three years, Tawang will have all weather connectivity with rest of India.



Now, you can understand, why China lost its cool, when Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation stone for sela tunnels.



As its said, better late than never, Thankfully before completing his tenure, this government was able to start construction work on this strategically important Sela Tunnel.



But China need not worry here, because Indians will soon make Prince Rafail Gandhi as king of India and work will never be completed on this tunnel project.



So far as we Indians are concerned, Prime minister Modi has not yet done any thing on the ground. It doesn't Matter, that he has started construction work on SeLa Tunnel which has been shamefully neglected in last 70 years.



Perhaps, previous Indian governments had been waiting for another Chinese Attack on Tawang to start construction work on Sela Tunnel.
