Not very long ago, daily we used to hear about Pakistan getting transformed due to Chinese investments in China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
As soon as Saudi Arabia promised few Billion dollars to Pakistan, of late we don't hear so much about CPEC.
Amid this trend, Pakistani Foreign minister has briefed Chinese authorities about CPEC development project during his ongoing Chinese visit.
You might know, though majority of CPEC funding comes from China, but Pakistan is also supposed to spend money in these projects.
This year, Pakistan was supposed to invest 27 Billion Rupees in CPEC project, but smart Pakistan has diverted 24 Billion Rupees to the projects, which will be identified by local legislators.
You all understand, what kind of development will happen with this diverted money of CPEC. Perhaps that's why one of Pakistani opposition leader has said that Imran Khan government had committed theft of CPEC Money.
If you have noticed, whatever Indian opposition leaders say, is widely covered in both Indian and Pakistani Media. but if Pakistani Opposition leader exposes Pakistani government, neither Pakistani nor Indian media cares about it.
We all understand, Pakistani media is in the control of Pakistani Army, but question is, who is controlling Indian media?
Even bigger question is, if Pakistani Foreign minister had told Chinese authorities about fund diversion from CPEC to the development projects, which are yet to be identified.
In comparison to Chinese investments, Pakistan is investing very small amount of money. But the diversion of the same shows the intent of Pakistan.
Moving further, recently a report from World bank has been published saying, that Pakistan has potential to become 2 Trillion Dollar economy by 2047.
While majority of Pakistani news papers have covered this news about the potential of Pakistan.
but only Samaa tv has published What will make Pakistan 2 Trillion Dollar economy in next 20 years.
As per world bank report, 70% of Pakistan's revenue is spent on Defense and paying back interest on loans.
This effectively means, Pakistan is left with only 30% of revenue to meet its other important developmental priorities.
You tell, how can a country grow faster in future, if its not investing in its present.
World bank report is clear in saying that Pakistan should reduce expenditure on defense and invest more in human development.
Pakistani media widely covered that World bank has asked Pakistan to invest more on Human Development, but they knowingly chose to ignore, that World bank has also asked Pakistan to reduce defense expenditure.
You understand, Pakistan cannot control how much it has to pay in interests each year, all it can reduce is its defense budget.
If Pakistan is not ready to bring down its defense budget, from where it will get money to spend on Human resource development.
Neither Pakistani media nor People there are interested in asking such questions, But they have already started dreaming about becoming 2 Trillion Dollar economy in the year 2047.
Since 1947, Pakistan has always been dreaming about becoming equal to India.
Please consider this, While Pakistan will need another 20 years to become 2 Trillion Dollar economy.
India is already world's 6th largest economy with size of 2.5 Trillion Dollars.
This years, we will become world's top 5th economy replacing Britain.
Last years, Pakistan's total GDP was 304 billion Dollars and Bangladesh was having GDP of 249 Billion Dollars.
While Pakistan continue to dream about being equal to India, Bangladesh will soon be equal to Pakistan.
Who knows, very soon, Indian economy will be bigger than Britain . and Economy of Pakistan will lag behind the economy of Bangladesh.
Anyways, Pakistan will continue its India obsession. No matter, how far Bangladesh goes ahead of it.
Leave aside Bangladesh, Now Pakistan has openly started fooling China by diverting its share of money towards unknown developmental projects.
