You know, for last couple of months, America and China have been negotiating very hard for a trade deal.



Until few days ago, everyone was positive about the outcome of these trade talks, but now nobody knows anything about it.



Trade talks were going very smooth as long as China was making empty commitment on opening Chinese market and buying more American goods.



As soon as discussion on Enforcement provisions started, Talks got stuck with no end in the sight.



As we have discussed in the past, for liars its very easy to accept any deals, because they have no intention to implement it.



In case of China, history is filled with such examples. How China promised to use South China sea artificial islands for peaceful purpose and then developed military infrastructure on them. Whole world has seen it with open eyes. But China has not been punished for violating its agreement with President Obama.



Learning from the experience, Trump Administration wants some enforcement provisions to be written in the deal. As per which, if China violates America China Trade agreement in future, American trade tariffs will be immediately imposed on China.



In simple words, if China doesn't come up to its words, there should be a way to punish it.



We all know, China and America have been discussing right now. to a large extent the credit goes to tariffs imposed by Trump Administration.



China is scared of them and doesn't want gun on its head in future as well, because any time American trade deficit with China starts rising again, Americans can slap tariffs on it under this enforcement mechanism.



In response to unilateral enforcement provisions proposed by America, China wants bilateral enforcement provisions.



As per which, If there is any violation of agreement, both sides should enter into a lengthy process of bilateral consultation.



Basically, In response to American fast and immediate punishment to China, China is asking some ways to avoid or defer the punishment on it due to its violation of tariffs.



Due to enforcement mechanism logjam, there appears no path for America and China trade talks to proceed.



Without enforcement mechanism, if America enters into any agreement, it will be fooling itself again.



Meanwhile, Trump administration has deferred imposition of third round of trade tarrifs on China for next 60 days.



Under pressure of tariffs on its all items, China may yield to american demands. But lets be frank, the chances of that happening are very low.



As we discussed in the past, China has proved that its trade talk with America was just part of talking trap. Its very unlikely that America and China can reach a trade deal, because China has only one intention to consume the term of President Trump by talking endlessly.



You understand, its gross underestimation to assume that China and America are just fighting for trade of few billion dollars. They are fighting for being on the top of the world for next 50 years.





Perhaps thats why American National Security Adviser has recently called China as existential threat to America.



Thankfully America has now seen the Chinese design, so far as India is concerned, we are proud to have china as our largest trading partner and biggest enemy at the same time.



Unemployment is the major issue in our general election, however no body wants to talk about the source of unemployment.



When people are busy in buying cheap Chinese goods, why will politicians worry about Indian trade deficit with China.



We agree, as per recent Indian trade data, it appears that Indian trade deficit is getting reduced. However, we would like to wait till Indian data for entire financial year comes up.



Anyways, Lets see, how next government handles china. For now, America is doing very good by focusing on enforcement mechanism, because China will certainly try its best to violate upcoming America China Trade agreement.
