भारत में अभी चुनाव की गर्म हवाएं चलने लगी है, लेकिन इसी बीच ताइवान स्ट्रेट में पारा ऊपर चड़ता चला जा रहा है. ताइवान स्ट्रेट ताइवान को चीन से अलग करती है.
पिछले लम्बे समय की तरह अपने फ्रीडम ऑफ़ नेविगेशन ऑपरेशन के अंतर्गत, अमेरिकी युद्ध पोत मार्च महीने के आखिरी सप्ताह में ताइवान स्ट्रेट से होकर गुजरे.
इसी बीच खबरे आने लगी, की ट्रम्प प्रशासन ताइवान को 66 F16 लड़ाकू विमान बेचने के ऊपर विचार कर रहा है.
पिछली बार वर्ष 1992 में अमेरिका ने लड़ाकू विमान ताइवान को बेचे थे, इसके बाद वर्ष 2011 में अमेरिका ने ताइवान को और लड़ाकू विमान बेचने से मना कर दिया.
इसके बजाय, ताइवान के पुराने F16 लड़ाकू विमानों को अपग्रेड किया गया.
लेकिन F16 लड़ाकू विमान की नयी सेल के खबरे चीन के लिए नागवार गुजरी, इसलिए उसने मौखिक विरोध जताने के बाद, 31 मार्च को उसने अपने दो J11 लड़ाकू विमान को ताइवान स्ट्रेट की मीडियन लाइन को क्रॉस करने के लिए भेज दिए.
लगभग 12 मिनट्स तक, चीन के लड़ाकू विमान ताइवान के एयर स्पेस का उलंघन करते रहे.
ताइवान के एयर स्पेस में चीनी लड़ाकू विमानों के घुसने का मतलब आप सिर्फ इस फैक्ट से समझ जायेंगे, की पिछली बार वर्ष 1999 में चीनी लड़ाकू विमानों ने ताइवान स्ट्रेट की मीडियन लाइन को violate किया था.
चीन की इस हरकत का विरोध करते हुए, ताइवान के राष्ट्रपति ने चीन को चेताया, की यदि चीन ने दोबारा मीडियन लाइन को क्रॉस करने की हिमाकत की, तो ताइवान के लड़ाकू विमान चीन के लड़ाकू विमानों को ताइवान के एयर स्पेस से बहार खदेड़ देंगे.
ताइवान के एयर स्पेस में चीन के लड़ाकू विमान दोबारा घुस सकते हैं, इसी खतरे को ध्यान में रखते हुए, अमेरिका के द्वारा ताइवान को F16 लड़ाकू विमान बेचे जाने का महत्वा बहुत अधिक बढ़ जाता है.
इसी बीच खबरे आने लगी, की राष्ट्रपति ट्रम्प ताइवान के साथ F16 लड़ाकू विमान की डील पर ब्रेक लगाने वाले हैं, क्योकि उन्हें पहले चीन के साथ ट्रेड डील करनी है.
लेकिन अभी हाल में, ताइवान के रक्षा मंत्रालय ने आधिकारिक स्टेटमेंट जारी किया, की अमेरिका से F16 लड़ाकू विमान खरीदने की डील अभी भी पटरी से नीचे नहीं उतरी है.
चीन भी लगातार चिल्ला रहा है, की ताइवान को F16 बेचे जाने से बेहद खतरनाक परिस्थिति का निर्माण होगा.
जबकि चीन का रक्षा बजट ताइवान के रक्षा बजट का 20 गुना है, चीन को चिंता नहीं करना चाहिए, की ताइवान कुछ F16 लड़ाकू विमान खरीद लेगा.
आप तो जानते हैं, ताइवान चीन की आँखों की किरकरी बना हुआ है, ताइवान के हाथो और अधिक F16 लग जाने से, ताइवान को अपने कब्जे में लेने की चीन की योजना पर पानी फिर सकता है.
आप तो जानते है, यदपि अमेरिका One China की पालिसी को फॉलो करता है, लेकिन फिर भी अमेरिकन इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ़ ताइवान, indirectly ताइवान में अमेरिकी एम्बेसी के रूप में काम करता है.
हलाकि हमेसा से ऐसी अफवाहें उड़ती रहती थी, की अमेरिका ने ताइवान में अपनी एम्बेसी की रक्षा के लिए अपने सैनिक सादा ड्रेस में तैनात किये है.
लेकिन अभी 3 फरबरी को अमेरिकन इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ़ ताइवान ने औपचारिक रूप से कन्फर्म कर दिया है, की वर्ष 2005 से वहां पर अमेरिकी सैनिक किसी न किसी रूप में तैनात हैं.
यह कन्फर्मेशन चीन के लिए चेतावनी है, ताइवान पर हमला करने के पहले चीन ने गम्भीरता पूर्वक सोचना चाहिए,यदि चीन के हमले में अमेरिकन सैनिको का बाल भी बांका हुआ, तो चीन को लेने के देने पड़ जायेंगे.
अब चीन फिर रोने लगा है, की अमेरिका One चीन की पालिसी को violate कर रहा है. अमेरिका को अपनी राह सुधार लेनी चाहिए, नहीं तो इसका चीन और अमेरिका के संबंधों पर बुरा प्रभाव पड़ेगा.
अमेरिकी सैनिकों के कन्फर्म डिप्लॉयमेंट के साथ, यह बात तय हो जाती है, की ताइवान पर हमला करने का खतरा चीन अभी हाल फिलहाल तो नहीं उठा पायेगा.
ताइवान के एयर स्पेस में घुसना छोटी बात है, देखते हैं, जो अपनी आँखें पूरी नहीं खोल पाते, वह क्या ताइवान पर कब्ज़ा करने की कोसिस करेंगे.
इसी बीच ताइवान में अगले साल की शुरुआत में चुनाव होने वाले हैं, दुर्भाग्यवश, वर्तमान राष्ट्रपति अभी पीछे चल रहे हैं. और उनसे आगे चल रहे उनके मुख्य प्रतिद्वंदी चीन के साथ अच्छे समबन्ध चाहते हैं.
ताइवान के लोगों के सामने दो विकल्प है, उन्हें चीन का पैसा पसंद है, या उन्हें लोकतंत्र की रक्षा करनी है.
ताइवान को दमनकारी कम्युनिस्ट रेजीम के नीचे लाने के बजाय, क्या यह अच्छा नहीं होगा, की चीन खुद लोकतान्त्रिक बन जाये, तो बिना गोली चलाये, ताइवान अपने आप चीन में शामिल भी हो सकता है.
हम सभी जानते हैं, चीन के राजा को सबसे ज्यादा डर लोकतंत्र से ही लगता है. लेकिन क्या यह अन्य सभी लोकतान्त्रिक देशो की जिम्मेदारी नहीं है, की वह कम से कम ताइवान के लोकतान्त्रिक सिस्टम को मोरल सपोर्ट प्रदान करें.
हमें यहाँ पर मिस्टेक नहीं करनी चाहिए, अगर डेमोक्रेसी को ताइवान से उखाड़ दिया जायेगा, तो अन्य डेमोक्रेटिक देशों को भी कम्युनिस्ट चीन से खतरे का सामना करना पड़ेगा.
बात यहाँ पर सीधी है, लोकतान्त्रिक व्यवस्था को बनाये रखना सभी लोकतान्त्रिक देशो की सामूहिक जिम्मेदारी भी है.
दुर्भाग्यबस, ज्यादातर देश यही समझते हैं, की कम्युनिस्ट चीन का तुस्टीकरण करने से, वह जादुई तरीके से डेमोक्रैटिक कंट्री में तब्दील हो जायेगा.
जब चीन का तुस्टीकरण करने की निति पर चल कर अमेरिका को कुछ हांसिल नहीं हुआ. यह अपेक्षा करना मूर्खता होगी, की यह चीन का तुस्टीकरण करने की की नीति हिन्द प्रशांत महासागर छेत्र में इंडिया, जापान और ऑस्ट्रेलिया का भला करेगा.
अगर डेमोक्रेसी की रक्षा कम्युनिस्ट चीन से की जानी है, तो यह लड़ाई आज ताइवान में लड़ी जानी चाहिए, नाकि बाद में भारत में.

Amid these operations, reports have started coming that Trump administration is planning to sell 66 F16 Fighter jets to Taiwan.
Last time in the year 1992, America sold fighter jets to Taiwan. However, in the year 2011, America refused to sell more fighter jets to Taiwan.
Instead existing F16 in Taiwan's inventory have been upgraded.
These reports have been proved to be so unbearable to China, that its two J 11 planes crossed median line of Taiwan strait on 31 March.
For 12 Minutes, Chinese fighter jets remained in the Taiwanese air space.
The significance of this Arial aggression can be understood from the single fact, that Last time in the year 1999 Chinese fighter jets have crossed median line in Taiwan strait.
After recent violation of air space by China, President of Taiwan said that if China dares to cross the median line again, Its fighter jets will be forcefully expelled from the Taiwanese air space.
With possible threat of Chinese aerial incursion in Taiwan's air space, the importance of proposed F16 deal in between Taiwan and America has increased significantly.
There were some reports, that President Trump would put this fighter jet deal on hold, because America and China are negotiating a trade deal.
but recently, Taiwanese defense ministry issued statement saying that plan to buy 66 F16 Fighter jets from America is still on track.
As per Chinese threat, the sale of F16 to Taiwan will create extremely dangerous situation.
When Chinese defense budgets is 20 times of Taiwanese defense budget, China has no reason to worry about Taiwan buying few F16 Fighter jets.
You know, China wants to fore fully annex Taiwan, and the brand new F16 fighter jets in the hand of Taiwanese Air force, will make Chinese work more difficult.
You know, Though america follows one china policy, yet it has American institute of Taiwan, which indirectly serves as American embassy in Taiwan.
There have always been rumors of american troops deployment in this American embassy in Taiwan.
However, Now American institute of Taiwan has formally confirmed on 3rd February, that American troops have been deployed there since 2005.
This confirmation, again serves warning to Chinese, that before they attack on Taiwan. they should seriously think twice because if American troops and facilities are harmed, American will consider that act of war from China.
Now China is crying that America is violating one China principal, and it must correct wrong doing to avoid serious damage to China US relationship.
American troops deployment to protect american embassy in Taiwan, makes any attack on Taiwan unaffordable for China.
Momentarily Violating the air space of Taiwan is a different matter, it would be interesting to see, if China forcefully tries to take Taiwan in its control.
Interestingly, Taiwan is also going in to election mode in early next year. Unfortunately, Nationalist current president is trailing behind his main rival, who wants good relationship with China.
Basically, People of Taiwan have two options, either they can select, Chinese money or continue to preserve their democracy.
Rather than bringing Taiwan into oppressive communist regime, it would have been better if China had adopted democratic system to automatically assimilate Taiwan in it with out firing a single bullet.
We all know, Chinese king is scared of democracy. But is it not a duty of all democratic nations to at least provide moral support to Democratic system of Taiwan.
Lets not make mistake here, If Democracy is uprooted in Taiwan, Democratic system in other countries will also start facing threat from Chinese communist regime.
The point is simple, Preserving Democracy is share responsibility of all democratic nations on the earth.
Unfortunately, majority of countries think that by appeasing communist china, it will magically convert itself into a democratic country.
The policy of Appeasement of China didn't serve America, it foolish to expect that it will serve India, Japan and Australia in indo pacific region.
IF democracy is to be protected from communist China, it should be protected in Taiwan now, not in India later.
