While it may be true that China has officially stopped buying crude oil from Iran, it would be interesting to see if somehow China purchase Iranian oil in coming months.
You all are aware of how China continue to support North Korea despite Strongest American sanctions in history.
Trump administration will proved to be naive if it believes that China has indeed stopped oil import from Iran.
That's why as per latest reports America has warned Hong Kong that it will face penalties, if it receives oil tanker, which has sailed from Iran shores violating american sanctions.
You all know, No sanctions will work if they are not enforced on the ground.
Time will only tell if China has indeed stopped oil import from Iran.
but Chinese decision to stop formal oil purchase confirms, that no body including mighty Chinese king is ready to pay the heavy cost of American sanctions for buying Iranian oil.
In India, there are many foreign policy experts, who have been suggesting, that India did wrong by stopping oil import from Iran.
These experts are basically confused and mixing chabahar port with Indian oil import from Iran.
Lets be clear, these are two different things, and Iran is wise enough to understand this .
Chabahar port is long term project, India stopping import of Iranian oil is short term issue.
Hopefully, this short term issue will not affect long term project like Chabahar in between India and Iran.
Moreover, now that even China stopped buying Iranian oil, Iran cannot blame India alone for succumbing to American sanctions.
Meanwhile, Pakistani viewers were quick in asking India to buy Iranian oil. Now Pakistani viewers can spend a little bit energy to convince their Iron brother China to buy oil from brother Iran.
Nevertheless in the end, we hope, Iran and America sit on the table and talk to find solution to these sanctions.
As soon as sanctions are removed, India will not have any problem in resuming oil purchase from Iran.
