For last couple of days, a number of our viewers have been requesting us to create video on the status of oil drilling in Pakistan. Therefore we are publishing this video.
Today, on the 23rd foundation day of his party, Pakistani Prime Minister has said that Pakistan could receive a good news with in two weeks.
He asked nation to offer special prayers, so that Pakistan hits oil and gas jackpot in Indus G block.
As per Prime Minister Imran Khan, this gas reserves would be enough to meet Pakistan's energy needs for the next 50 years.
if you can recall, last time on 8th of April , The drilling got stalled in second side bore well.
After completing the cementing process in the well, the drilling was to start on 20th of April.
However, As per the report of Pakistani news paper The News, the drilling could not take off as it it hit another serious snag.
Therefore, the drilling could not restart until 26th of April.
We can positively assume that drilling would have started in last couple of days for the remaining 650 to 800 meters in the second side bore well.
Please note, we are already in the month of may, sea will turn rough because of high tide.
As per Pakistani authorities Monsoon is getting delayed, therefore in May drilling can continue.
No doubt, drilling has entered in the phase, where it can be concluded if there is any oil or gas.
But even with delayed monsoon, Pakistan is left with only few weeks complete drilling. Pakistani authorities will get good or bad news in this month only.
in any case, Pakistani public will get good news of Pakistan hitting oil and gas jackpot.
Perhaps, that's why, Exxon Mobil is yet to brief Pakistani prime minister, but he already knows, that this well can fulfill Pakistani needs for next 50 years.
Rather interestingly, Exxon Mobil has expressed interest in drilling more offshore blocks in search of oil and gas jackpots in Pakistan.
Therefore, we should not expect that the game of drilling will stop in this month of May.
This brings us to our central point, why Exxon Mobil is so keen to drill in Pakistan?
As per Pakistani Prime Minister, its his visionary leadership that started drilling in Pakistan, which is already blessed with huge reserves of oil and gas.
If you look at the official data released by Exxon Mobil, for last two years, it has been reporting lower oil and gas production.
Therefore it has made strategic decision to increase oil and gas production by exploring more oil and gas sometime last year.
In fact, Exxon mobil has already started reporting major oil and gas discoveries in South American country, and its oil and gas production has recently increased as well.
As part of this strategy of increasing oil production to become profitable, Last year in the month of November, Exxon Mobile decided to re-enter in Pakistani market after gap of 27 years, and offshore drilling started in January this year in Indus G block.
You see, Exxon Mobil wants to increase its oil production to become profitable, but Pakistani Prime Minister claimed, as if its big success for him to attract foreign direct investment in Pakistani oil and gas sector..
The small point is, Neither Pakistani nor Indian media has time to look into the strategy of Exxon Mobil, before giving credit to Imran Khan for starting oil and gas exploration in Pakistan.
Regardless, who gets the credit of offshore drilling in Pakistan, the point is, how much you can trust honest Imran Khan.
Given, Exxon Mobil is trying to increase its oil production, it will continue to drill more in Pakistan, and the propaganda of Pakistan hitting oil and gas jackpot will remain there for sometime.
For now, we should rather wait for the official statement from Exxon Mobil about hitting oil and gas jackpot in Pakistan.
