Multiple news reports were published, that for the first time in its history Pakistan army has sent a retired three star lieutenant general Javed Iqbal to life imprisonment
and retired brigadier Raja Rizwan Haider and Dr Wasim have been awarded death sentence.
As per official statement of Pakistan Army, their crime was that they leaked sensitive information to foreign agencies in detriment to national security.
The simple question is, why Pakistan army announced these sentences now, when these officials have been retired some time back.
As per Pakistan army, Its their big success that they have been able to identify the issue.
However, the reality is, the family members of one of the accused went to the court to find out where and why the accused was being held.
Even before DG ISPR could tweet, there were reports in the media about two senior army officers being under investigation.
It appears, Pakistan army is trying to make virtue out of compulsion. when they were getting exposed, they came out with the news that the accused have been awarded by honest Pakistan army.
The espionage at the level of three star general is matter of serious concern for normal Pakistani public.
However, the important question is, to which country these officers have been passing the information.
Some Pakistani hold the views, that Indian agency Raw was behind this espionage racket.
but you know, If the information being passed to Indian agency, Pakistan would be happiest nation in the world to boast of destroying Indian spy network.
This punishment could have been used to showcase as if India is hell bent to destroy the idea of Pakistan.
If India had been behind the case, today Pakistani DGISPR must not be hiding their hands in the sand.
However as per some experts, These Pakistan Army officials were passing the information to American agency CIA.
This is the same America, with which Pakistan has best friendship in the world.
Those days are not very far behind of us, when Pakistan used to take full advantage of America against India.
Since the independence of Pakistan, America has provided the aid worth 78 Billion Dollars to Dear friend Pakistan.
Now if Chinese are thinking they have bought Pakistani loyalty by giving them 60 Billion dollars in CPEC, they should be ashamed of themselves.
Anyways, the point is, the relationship in between Pakistan and America have deteriorated so much now.
In order to prevent further damage to bilateral relationship, Pakistan is right, when it doesn't divulge whom the information has been leaked to.
There were some reports that in last two years alone, Pakistan army has punished around 400 officers for undisclosed offences.
with such high number, Pakistani public must seek answers from their all powerful army, which have always wanted Pakistani public to eat Biryaani made of grass, so that generals in Rawalpindi can enjoy chicken Biryani.
We all know, Pakistani Public will not ask such question, that's why there will not be any change whatsoever.
Anyways, for now momentarily, Pakistani Army's Honest image has suffered a severe dent.
