You might recall, in the month of February, we have discussed about China operating a secret military base in Tajikistan on top of Wakhan corridor, which connects China with Afghanistan.



Later on China has officially denied about building a military base on Afghanistan Tajikistan border.



At that time, it was up to you if you wanted to believe in the images of Chinese military base published in the Washington Post news paper.



However, there was confusion on why China has built a military base in such a remote location?



One view was that China might be trying to gain entry in Afghanistan after American withdrawal, another view was that China might be trying to oversee any terrorists flow from Afghanistan to its restive Xinjiang province.



Now, it appears, we have all misread the Chinese long term strategic thinking.



Please consider this, on 14th of June, during Tajikistan visit of Chinese king 15 agreements were signed. As always happens with Chinese deals, sufficient details were not provided at that time.



On 20th of June, Tajik Radio service reported that Tajikistan has granted development rights over major silver mine to China.



This silver mine is located in remote high altitude Pamir region, which is lacking roads and power supply.



As per earlier estimate, this silver mine could hold at least 205 tons of silver. More importantly, this mine is not very far from highly secretive Chinese military base on the border of Afghanistan.





Therefore now you may connect, why China might have opened a military base there, because its eyes might be on this silver mine.



World was thinking China looking at Afghanistan, but it was actually looking at the mineral reserves of Tajikistan. 



Not surprisingly, Tajik government has not provided any details about financial terms of this licencing agreement with China.



Now, you might ask, why Tajikistan handed over its silver mine to China. Answer you perhaps already know. 



Few years ago, as soon as Tajikistan asked for money, China used to sign the check for them. But now Tajikistan was facing difficulty to get money from China.



you might know, out of total foreign debt of Tajikistan, China has 40% contribution.



When you have taken loans and have no capability to service them, the option you will get is to hand over the family silver and gold.



This time Tajikistan happens to give up its control over silver mine to China.



Friends, we must not expect that China will accept taking over silver mine of Tajikistan. 

China moves very slowly on its strategy, we get its true intentions only when its already too late.



Please take example of India or America, our leaders choose to talk to china to resolve the disputes. however, all these democratically elected leaders have fixed tenure, but Chinese president will rule over china as long as he is alive.



Every Chinese kid understand this strength, unfortunately our leadership like Modi and Trump fail to realize it.
