Sometimes you might have wondered, why Pakistani ISI is so powerful and notorious?
The primary reason is, Perhaps ISI is one and only intelligence agency in the world, whose Chief is selected by an Army.
Technically, even the Chief of ISI is appointed by Pakistani Prime minister, but you all know, when Pakistani Prime minister himself is selected by Pakistan Army, what authority such rubber stamp prime minister can ever have.
Anyways, the point is, the primary job of an intelligence agency is to gather secret information to prevent harmful environment for the citizens. but in Pakistan, the primary job of ISI is to create an environment, which is favorable for maintaining supremacy of Army in Pakistan.
As long as the effective control of ISI doesn't come under the Pakistani civilian leadership. Its naive on our part to expect any behavioral change in Pakistan towards India.
anyways, coming to latest change of leadership in ISI. on an average, the head of ISI has three years tenure.
However, Last ISI Chief has the shortest tenure of 8 months in the history of ISI.
Now the question is, what has caused this sudden change in the leadership of ISI.
The answer to this question can be found in the results of Indian general election.
If Modi saab had lost the general election, would the tenure of Former ISI chief have ended with in 8 months?
As per analysis published in Economic Times news papers, Without the approval from Former ISI chief, in February this year Pulwama attack would never have happened.
You may recall, Indian opposition leader requesting Pakistan to help in removing modi from the post.
first Assumption perhaps was, that modi will not retaliate, and second assumption was, if Modi retaliates, Pakistan army will foil it conclusively.
Its different matter, that Modi saab reacted to the surprise of Pakistan Army
Moreover, Former ISI chief was made a scapegoat here, you tell, without go ahead from Pakistan Army chief,would Pulwama have ever happened?
The point is simple, Pakistan Army chief cannot sack himself, so he ended the tenure of former ISI chief.
Interestingly, day before yesterday, there were news report of Pakistan providing intelligence to India about possible terror attack.
Curiously Pakistan has shared the same information with America as well. Before you thank Pakistan for it, please remind yourself, if Pakistan had shared honest intelligence with Americans, America would not have to negotiate with Taliban today.
you know, Pakistan sharing same intelligence with both India and US, has more to do with 22nd IMF bailout and preventing FATF blacklist.
