As you might be knowing, America has taken very good decision to sell Defense equipment worth massive 2.2 Billion Dollars to Taiwan.
The approval to sell 108 Abram tanks and 250 Stinger missile has been granted. With the notification of this approval, US congress has 30 days to object to this potential sale.
As per the law passed by US congress, its duty of America to provide means of self defense to Taiwan. Hence, US congress will not oppose the law it has created 40 years back.
After a gap of decade, this is going to be largest America Taiwan defense deal under Trump Administration.
You all understand, These Abram tanks and Stinger missiles are not given to Taiwan to wage a war against China, its purely for the defense of Taiwan.
Since China has been always conspiring to attack over Taiwan, it has been left with red face with this american approval. China has formally and openly demanded cancellation of this defense deal with Taiwan.
China terms this defense deal as interference in its internal affairs. China has threatened america that if this deal is not cancelled, America China relationship will be harmed.
This is usual way of china expressing its anger. Now that Trump administration has granted approval and notified Congress.
America cannot go back on this deal, without a loss of face in front of whole world.
Rather than pondering over cancelling this deal, America should ask China, why China has been interfering in South China sea.
Why china has claimed entire sea as its own? Why China has militarized the artificial islands built for peaceful purpose?
China has no answer to these question, except repeating the old claim over entire south China sea.
More importantly, if you see this map, Taiwan stands at the front line of South China sea. In simple words, Taiwan is first block stopping China from controlling entire south china sea.
there is no point of fighting china in south china sea, Rather China should be fought in Taiwan strait.
Needless to say, if Taiwan falls, South China sea will be next obvious target.
No body is saying, China is going to make sudden aggressive move in south china sea, but the world needs to be careful about Chinese creeping encroachment.
That's why Taiwan is all the more important. America and rest of the world cannot afford the fall of Taiwan in the lap of Chinese king.
Enough of China appeasement, how long it will be duty of America to pay the price for good relationship with China.
Hopefully India will also grow more defense relationship with Taiwan. because Indian appeasement policy will make china more aggressive with each passing day.
