As you might be aware of China officially reporting lowest 6.2% growth rate in last thirty years.



You all know, China has built robust economy on the basis of taking huge loans. Please consider, at the end of year 2018, total debt on china was equal to 260% of its gross domestic product.



If Growth rate falls less than 6%, Chinese house of card will have real danger of falling. Therefore China will do everything possible not to hit the level below 6% quarterly growth rate.



Given People's Republic of China is completing 70 years of its existence, its certainly a bad news for them to hit the bottom of growth rate in last 30 years.



In the worst case scenario of trade war, China may have to face reduction of 1.4% in its growth rate.



As China is struggling to maintain the high growth rate, We must not forget that China has been known to overstate its growth rate in the past.



There can be argument on how much china overstates the growth rate, but there is general consensus that china overstates its growth rates and suppresses it debt level.



The point is simple, when China is reporting lowest growth rate in last thirty years, the situation on the ground in china could be much worse than anyone of us can think.



Though American growth rate for second quarter is yet to come, its likely that America will maintain high growth rate level it has hit in first quarter of this year. however, lets wait for American quarterly growth numbers to come out.



Anyways the point is different. if you go one year back, majority of you have smartly predicted this out come, however majority of experts were saying that America will have to pay heavier price in this trade war with China.



Now that numbers are showing that China is on the loosing side, these experts are suggesting that as Chinese economy slows down, it will drag the global economy including American economy.



First of all, none of us have this illusion that only one side will pay the price in the war. Hence, its quite possible that Global economy suffers in medium term.



However as nominated  American joint chiefs of Staff has said, China will be biggest threat to America for next 100 years. Hence, We must not think, that one or two quarters growth rate will determine the outcome of this war in between China and America.



If China is a threat to America, we Indians would be naive to believe that China will be an opportunity to India.



By trying to ride in the two boats of America and China, India is facing the obvious loss in this trade war, while countries like Vietnam, Taiwan, Bangladesh and Thailand getting most of the benefit.



Lets see, if this government capitalizes on this opportunity, or waste its time in balancing China and America against each other.
