You all know, due to American sanctions, India along with other countries have stopped buying oil from Iran.
As part of Maximum Pressure campaign of Trump administration, Iran was not to be allowed to export even a drop of oil.
However, After the sanctions were fully implemented in the month of May, China imported 1 Million barrels of Iranian crude oil in last month.
Despite American sanctions, China is importing around 2 Lakh Barrels of Crude oil from Iran on daily basis.
In fact, Senior officials in Trump administration have concluded that China has defied US sanctions, hence China should be punished for this violation.
This was the news published on 11th July, however till now America is still thinking about imposing sanctions on China.
Given fresh round of trade talk is scheduled to be held soon, its understandable that America doesn't want to complicate the matter.
However the bigger question is, were those countries fool, when they have stopped buying Iranian oil due to American sanctions.
You all know, no sanction will work unless they are imposed on the violators. In case of China, America is simply ignoring Chinese violation, only because its very powerful.
But bigger question is, Why India and other countries are silent on this duplicity in American behavior.
Neither Indian media nor Indian political leaders are slamming America for not imposing sanctions on China for importing Iranian oil.
If China can import crude oil without getting sanctions imposed, Why India cannot start Iranian crude oil import?
Why India is not daring America to impose sanctions first on China before asking India to abide by them?
Unfortunately, India is following China appeasement policy, Scared of angering China, India is not opening its mouth.
However, by importing oil at this time from Iran, smart China is buying the Iranian loyalty for many years to come.
Iranian case is not alone, despite american sanctions, China continued to help North Korean regime.
Why Trump's maximum pressure campaign failed to show any effect on North Korea and Iran, the answer in single word is China.
When India is not exposing America, its waste on our part to expect Trump administration to impose sanctions on China.
We are not asking India to publicly expose America & China, but they should at least ask America in private, why American sanctions are not being imposed on rich and powerful country like China.
So far as we think, if China continues Iranian oil import, India should also start buying Iranian oil and ask America to first impose sanctions on China.
